Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare's Gunfight Mode Will Get 1v1 And 3v3 Showdowns

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare recently expanded with a tournament option for Gunfight mode, which is an tense 2v2 mode where players are thrown into battle with a random loadout (or with nothing, with guns scattered around the small level) and no respawns. It’s a tense experience, and players seem to be enjoying it. Now it’s been revealed that this mode will be expanded beyond 2v2 at some point, and you’ll be able to compete as a team of three or face off against a single other player alone.

This news comes via the Twitter of Joe Cecot, the co-design director of multiplayer at Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward. After being asked by a fan on Twitter if he could “please add a 3v3 gunfight mode,” Cecot responded to let them know that this was part of the plan, and that 1v1 was also coming, which sounds like a very intense experience.

No date or time frame has been given, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has already received some major updates since it launched. On December 3 the game will receive an enormous content drop to signify the beginning of the game’s first season–the biggest free content pack in the history of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It received a 7/10 in our review, and reviewer Kallie Plagge called Gunfight mode “a great addition to the multiplayer suite, if not a huge draw.”
