Not All Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 1 DLC Will Be Available At The Start

Activision and Infinity Ward recently announced the first details on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s big Season 1 update, which delivers heaps of free content like maps, modes, weapons, and more. As it turns out, not all of this content will be available at launch on December 3.

A disclaimer in Activision’s blog post about the Season 1 content warns players that “some of this content may drop later than the Season 1 start date of December 3.”

Activision did not say what content will and will not be available on December 3. It’s also worth noting that additional content may be added to the Season 1 lineup, Activision said.

The Season 1 offering includes the “biggest free content drop in franchise history,” according to Activision. Indeed, it is meaty, featuring six multiplayer maps (or more), at least three new modes, and four new Spec Ops missions.

All of this content is free, but Activision is also releasing the first Battle Pass that includes new weapons and cosmetic items to unlock through gameplay or by spending real money. There will be 100 tiers in the Battle Pass, and more details on the specifics are going to be announced on December 3.

In the lead-up to the launch of Modern Warfare’s Season 1, Activision is offering double XP on all platforms to help players rise through the ranks.
