CoD: Modern Warfare, Warzone Season 6 Trailer Shows Off Underground Subway

With Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone kicking off on September 29, publisher Activision has shared an overview trailer that provides a brief glimpse at the new subway station. This underground train will travel throughout Verdansk’s large map, with various scheduled stops for players to engage in skirmishes or take in the views at a much faster pace.

The trailer takes us through the various locations the subway station will stop at as it makes its way across Verdansk. This includes the train station itself, a downtown district, and the Verdansk airport. There are eight stops in total, all of which seem to support a variety of gameplay styles. The trailer also highlights what appears to be a series of new maps coming to both Modern Warfare and Warzone, such as a tank factory, broadcast station, Verdansk’s riverside, and others.

The trailer also teases an apparent “haunting” coming to Call of Duty on October 20. There’s nothing else to this teaser, but it’s a Halloween-themed event in either Modern Warfare or Warzone. Activision confirmed a reveal of the still-unannounced Zombies mode is scheduled to take place on September 30.

Season 6 seems to be a massive update to Modern Warfare and Warzone, with Activision mandating at least 20GB of hard drive space to pre-load the update on PlayStation 4. The new season of content adds Farah Karim and Nikolai, the two main characters from Modern Warfare’s campaign.

The new season of Modern Warfare and Warzone arrives just two months before the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops Cold War, launches. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War drops on November 13 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/Series X. A beta for the game is scheduled to take place early next month and though beta progress may not carry over, there is cross-progression and cross-save support between current- and next-gen hardware.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone Season 6 Pre-Load Available On PS4

Season 6 will soon begin in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the battle royale game Warzone, and it appears PlayStation owners will be able to pre-load it.

CharlieIntel noticed that the official PlayStation account tweeted (and then deleted) a message regarding pre-loading for the Season 6 update. The site reported that some people have already been able to pre-load the expansion, but the since-deleted tweet suggests that pre-loading should be available for everyone relatively soon, if it’s not already.

Update 1.27 adds Season 6 to Modern Warfare and Warzone, and the update is expected to be around 20 GB in size. According to CharlieIntel, pre-loading is being broken down into two waves on PS4–some people got it overnight on September 27 and others will receive the pre-load now. Pre-loading is not available on PC and Xbox One, the site said.

The Season 6 update officially arrives on September 29, so it won’t be much longer until everyone gets a crack at it.

Season 6 adds two of Modern Warfare’s main characters from the campaign–freedom fighter Farah Karim and Soviet soldier Nikolai. The expansion also is believed to add a new underground subway system, which may provide a new setting for the Warzone map.

Activision has yet to announce the full specifics of what’s in the Season 6 update, but you can expect a new Battle Pass, along with various other updates.

This update is coming less than two months before Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives in November. A beta for the game will be held in October–here’s how to get in.

Call Of Duty: Warzone's Subway Location Map Revealed Ahead Of Season 6

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is approaching its sixth season of content, with an earlier teaser trailer revealing its September 29 release date. Along with returning characters, Season 6 is bringing with it firefights underground which will take place in a new subway system underneath Warzone’s map.

Verdansk is being updated with an entire subway network that will let you zip around its large land mass when Season 6 arrives. The map shared shows a few stops that the train will make as it circles around the map, letting you hop aboard for a quick ride. Of course, it’s unlikely that you’ll be the only player thinking about this, giving you another space to both hunt and avoid foes in.

Some disclaimers on the image make it sound like the subway system will be a way to circumvent the deadly gas above ground that will kill you if you find yourself outside of the encroaching circle. The train will also not stop at stations that are engulfed in gas, which narrows down your ability to escape if you’ve already been caught out above.

Verdansk Metro Stops

  • Verdansk Train Station
  • Torsk Bloc
  • Verdansk International Airport
  • Lozoff Pass
  • Verdansk Center
  • Downtown/ Tavorsk District
  • Barakett Shopping District

Season 6 of Modern Warfare is also bringing back two characters from the game’s campaign, namely freedom-fighter Farah and Soviet soldier Nikolai. There’s no indication if this will be the last season for the shooter considering the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is less than two months away. Activision has confirmed, however, that Warzone will remain operational and incorporate elements from Cold War after its release.

VOTE-TO-KICK REMOVAL

In this update we will be removing the vote-to-kick feature from Quick Match (vote-to-kick was previously only available in Quick Match.)

We’ve been monitoring the use of vote-to-kick for the last seasons and have confirmed that it is indeed a highly abused feature used as a disruption tool and that it is considered by most to be a pain point in this playlist. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 6 Brings Back Some Familiar Faces

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is fast approaching, but if you’re still getting your first-person shooting fix with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, you have more seasonal content to look forward to next week.

Season 6 for both Modern Warfare’s multiplayer and the free-to-play battle royale, Warzone, is launching on all platforms on September 29. The trailer for the new season brings back two of Modern Warfare’s main characters–freedom fighter Farah Karim and Soviet soldier Nikolai. The two are involved in an operation underground, with an abandoned subway station looking like a new map setting for the new season.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much else about what will be included in Season 6 or what will be exclusive to Warzone. You can probably bet on getting both Farah and Nikolai as operators with the battle pass, as has been the tradition with past season-headlining characters.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launched its technical alpha for the game’s multiplayer on PS4 last week, following a formal multiplayer reveal earlier this month. A beta is coming to more platforms in October, coming first to PS4 before opening to Xbox One and PC players.

The next entry in the Call of Duty franchise will act as a direct sequel to the original Black Ops, inspired by historical events as you hunt down a Soviet sleeper agent during the height of the Cold War. Black Ops Cold War is out for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S on November 13. It also has a very confusing upgrade program for cross-generation support.

Activision Confirms No Call Of Duty Accounts Have Been Compromised

Earlier today reports emerged that claimed some Call of Duty Accounts were compromised, but this is not the case, a spokesperson for Activision tells GameSpot.

“Activision Call of Duty accounts have not been compromised. Reports suggesting otherwise are not accurate,” the spokesperson said.

Activision also stressed that it takes privacy seriously and it investigates security issues. The company also advised players to use these various methods to make sure their accounts stay secure. As always, it’s never a good idea to use the same password for different services, and it’s smart to change your password often anyway.

The Call of Duty franchise is currently riding high thanks to the free-to-play battle royale game Warzone that has reached millions of players. The mainline series is also enjoying success with Modern Warfare, and potentially more in November with Black Ops Cold War. Cold War is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops, taking place in 1981. In addition to multiplayer and campaign, the game brings back the fan-favorite Zombies mode.
