Weapon Texture Glitch Fixed In Call Of Duty: Warzone / Modern Warfare: Full Patch Notes

An update for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone has been released, and it fixes a weapon model corruption bug that caused them to display incorrectly on the screen. This also applied to sights found, making it quite a bit more difficult to play the game. If you’re playing on Xbox One, be prepared for an enormous download to rectify this issue, as well. While you wait, you can start creating a Pepe Silvia conspiracy theory board to learn what this year’s new game will be. Or are we just doing that?

Available for download now, the patch is between just under 1GB and just under 2GB if you’re on PS4 or PC. This applies to both the free Warzone client and the Modern Warfare client. On Xbox One, there was an “unforeseen bug” in Microsoft’s patch delivery system that means you must download previous files, as well, bringing the file size for the patch to more than 66GB. Your full file size for Modern Warfare will sit at about 183GB after the patch, while Warzone will be at just under 100GB. Infinity Ward has an option to delete unused game content in order to get this file size down.

The full patch notes are below, and the update comes as players are trying to piece together clues in Warzone and a new teaser website that seemingly points to the new Call of Duty 2020 game. It appears to be a Black Ops game set during the Cold War, and images and videos on the website show JFK, Fidel Castro, and East Germany prominently.

July 2020 NPD: Ghost Of Tsushima Becomes Sucker Punch's Fastest Selling Release

The NPD Group has released its latest sales results in the US for July 2020, which has seen another month of growth for the industry as consumers chose to focus on video games as they stayed indoors. Hardware sales slowed down slightly in July, but spending on game content reached $3.6 billion.

This figure also includes a new metric from the NPD, in the form of “Video Game Content,” which is a combination of microtransactions, downloadable content, subscriptions, and more.

“Consumer spending across video game hardware, content, and accessories totaled $3.6 billion in July 2020, increasing 32% when compared to a year ago,” NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said. “Double-digit percentage spending gains in accessories, subscription, mobile, and both digital full game as well as post-launch spending on console and PC offset a slight decline in hardware. Year-to-date spending reached $26 billion, 21% higher than the same period in 2019. Content, hardware, and accessory spending are each over 20% higher when compared to the same period a year ago.”
