Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare's New Operator Has A Very Good Dog Companion

Developer Infinity Ward has opened up about everything new coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this week. And one of the latest additions is a brand-new Operator who brings along a very good dog that will spice up your finishing move.

Talon is the new operator to join both Modern Warfare and the game’s standalone battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone. He brings along two legendary blueprints and two Battle Pass tier skips, as well as his dog buddy Indiana, which can be commanded via Talon’s Finishing Move. The Talon bundle hits the Call of Duty store on Tuesday, March 24 and Indiana is “one of [the] many items [available to Talon].”

But, um, what and where is Indiana?

Call of Duty’s free-to-play battle royale experience Warzone finally has a dedicated Solo mode for those lone wolves who want to test their mettle against 149 other players. Sometime in the future, according to Infinity Ward, Warzone’s player count could eventually jump up to 200 per match.

In other Call of Duty news, a leak has appeared allegedly confirming the existence of a Modern Warfare 2 remaster. The details seem murky at the moment, but a South Korean ratings board suggests a “campaign remaster” of the classic Call of Duty title is on the way for consoles and PC.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Appears To Be Coming

Activision Blizzard remastered the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2017, and the company appears primed to give its sequel the same makeover treatment. The South Korean ratings board has apparently leaked the game.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) site has a listing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, registered on February 26. Given the name, this is just a remaster of the campaign, not the multiplayer. Modern Warfare Remastered did include its own game’s multiplayer with new tweaks and achievements. This doesn’t necessarily mean it will be missing from the final MW2 Remastered product, though, as that listing could simply be separate.

None of this is to be confused with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the relaunch of the Modern Warfare series that released last year. That’s currently getting a ton of ongoing content with ongoing seasons and battle passes. Most recently it added the battle royale Warzone, which is free to all players regardless of whether you own the base game, and gives you the same cosmetic battle pass rewards.

The free-to-play aspect seems to have been a hit, having reached 6 million players in its first 24 hours. If you want to jump into Warzone, check out some of our best tips to get you off on the right boot.

CoD: Warzone & Modern Warfare Patch Notes (March 17 Update)

A new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now available, as is a playlist update for the game’s multiplayer mode on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Any new Modern Warfare patch now potentially impacts Warzone, the new free-to-play battle royale game, and sure enough, it’s Warzone that sees the biggest change in this update. As referenced in the patch notes, Warzone now offers a Solo mode.

Prior to this update, the only playlist in Warzone allowed for teams of three to compete against each other (although you could, technically, join a match without any teammates). Now, you’ll be able to do battle without having to worry about enemy squads or anything of the sort–you’ll win or (more likely) lose based solely on your own actions. Whether that’s the ideal way to play remains to be seen, but it’s an option for those who are teammate-averse.

Elsewhere in the update, Modern Warfare’s multiplayer has added Cranked Kill Confirmed, Mercenary Moshpit, and 10v10 Atlas Superstory 24/7 playlists. Additionally, alongside the recently added DLC, Gunfight has gotten a St. Patrick’s Day theme.

In terms of fixes, Infinity Ward has made good on a recent promise, as kills in Warzone are now credited to the player who downed an enemy. Previously, the player who finished off the downed player was awarded the kill.

You can check out the full patch notes below.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare / Warzone Patch Notes

PLAYLIST UPDATE:

Multiplayer:

  • Cranked Kill Confirmed
  • Mercenary Moshpit
  • Atlas Superstore 24/7 (10v10) “Doorbuster 24/7”
  • Gunfight is now St. Patrick’s Day themed!

Battle Royale:

  • Solo Mode! That’s right. Just you.

GENERAL FIXES:

  • Fix for a rare bug where players could have increased movement speed after coming out of the Gulag and back into the game
  • Fixed a bug where players may find their weapon in a stowed position and are unable to reload or use their weapon
  • In some cases, players could become stuck under Buy Stations when prone. This has been fixed
  • The Threat UI could disappear from the screen if players complete a contract while they are being hunted from a Bounty Contract. This has been fixed
  • Updated text to “Redeploy Squadmate” to make it a little more obvious on screen when you can buy back a teammate
  • Fix for the last objective in the “Boats and Trains” Mission not tracking as intended
  • Kills are now credited to the player who downed the enemy player.
  • Fix for an exploit where players were able to shoot while downed
  • Fixed a bug where players were unable to deposit cash using balloons if their settings were set to “Contextual Tap”
  • Fixed a bug where players were able to clip into the walls in the Hospital
