Ghost Recon Wildlands And Breakpoint DLC Is Free For The Franchise's 20th Anniversary

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and for a limited time, Ubisoft is giving away both the original game and some DLC for more recent entries in the series.

From October 5-11, you can claim a free copy of the original Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon for PC alongside the Fallen Ghosts DLC for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and the Deep State Adventure for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. All the giveaways can either be claimed directly through the Ubisoft Connect launcher on PC or via a giveaway page, where you can choose your platform of choice should you want the Wildlands DLC for Xbox One , PlayStation 4, Stadia, or on the Epic Games Store. The original Ghost Recon is only available on PC.

The process is a little different when it comes to accessing the Deep State Adventure DLC. To claim the Breakpoint DLC, you’ll need to actually boot up the game on your platform of choice, navigate to the expansion tab in the in-game store, and purchase the Deep State Adventure DLC for 0 Ghost Coins. You’ll need to own a copy of Wildlands or Breakpoint in order to access the free DLC.

Ubisoft also announced a new, free-to-play, battle royale-focused multiplayer entry in the series, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline, as part of the franchise’s anniversary celebration. Unlike many more recent games in the franchise, Ghost Recon: Frontline will be in first-person, as teams of players battle it out to find crucial intel and extract from the battlefield before it’s too late. Ghost Recon: Frontlines does not currently have a release date, but interested players in Europe can sign up for a chance to participate in an upcoming closed test for the game.

Call Of Duty Leak Reveals Unused Cinderblock Melee Weapon That Looks Absolutely Brutal

An unreleased melee weapon from 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been revealed, and it’s far from a traditional weapon. Discovered from Twitter user ModenasHD, the melee weapon is a busted-up cinderblock that would have surely packed a punch in the game.

In the video below, you can see the cinderblock in action, as the player whacks it against a wall. There appear to be two main animations, one swinging from the side and one slamming it down from top to bottom. The inspect animation is also pretty slick and finished-looking, showing the soldier wiping it clean and peering through its two openings.

Another video shows the cinderblock in action, including its brutal finishing move. In one of the animations, the player whips the block down onto the enemy, breaking their leg and splitting the cinderblock in two. The other half is then used to finish the foe for good. You can watch both videos below.

It’s unclear how this melee weapon was discovered and why it was never released in Modern Warfare. As mentioned, it certainly looks to be in a polished state. There could be any number of reasons why the cinderblock was never released or if it was ever even planned for release.

Activision’s current focus is on Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, along with Vanguard and a new Warzone Pacific map to launch later this year. Perhaps the cinderblock is being saved for Project Cortez, which is believed to be the codename for 2022’s rumored Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

In other news, the Oktoberfest DLC for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is out now, adding all manner of beer-related items to the games. Additionally, Season 6 is coming up soon, and you can watch the announcement cinematic right now.

Activision Blizzard is facing pressure to improve its working conditions amidst lawsuits and other probes about gender discrimination and sexual harassment. Recently, the company agreed to pay $18 million to create a fund to “compensate and make amends” to affected staffers, though the company denied any wrongdoing.

Call Of Duty's Most Iconic Maps Have Been Recreated In Lego

Have you ever looked at a Call of Duty map and wondered what it might look like constructed entirely out of Lego? Neither have I, but it turns out the answer is that it looks pretty cool. The folks at Diamond Lobby have designed eight epic Lego builds based on some of the most iconic Call of Duty maps, and we only wish they existed in real life.

While theoretically these Lego maps are possible to build, these ones have been constructed using the Bricklink Studio 2.0 software, with the help of designer Evghenii Loctev. In case you did want to try building one yourself, each map also includes what it would cost if you bought all the bricks in the build–though Diamond Lobby warns that some bricks used are rare and therefore pretty expensive.

The images include eight iconic maps: Crash, Castle, Terminal, Firing Range, Rust, Nuketown, Slums, and Raid. Of all the maps that have been recreated, Crash would be the cheapest to actually build at $1340 for the 2167 bricks required. The most expensive is Terminal, with the giant plane requiring 18,043 bricks at a cost of $4,726.

Terminal is made up of 18,043 bricks and costs $4,726 to build. Image: Diamond LobbySlums is made up of 3,456 bricks and costs $1,591 to build. Image: Diamond LobbyRust is made up of 1,811 bricks and costs $1,810 to build. Image: Diamond LobbyRaid is made up of 14,152 bricks and costs $2,474 to build. Image: Diamond LobbyNuketown is made up of 5,953 bricks and costs $3,033 to build. Image: Diamond LobbyFiring Range is made up of 5,133 bricks and costs $1,988 to build. Image: Diamond LobbyCrash is made up of 2,167 bricks and costs $1,340 to build. Image: Diamond LobbyCastle is made up of 12,873 bricks and costs $2,508 to build. Image: Diamond Lobby

While these images make us dream of an official Call of Duty Lego set, the franchise seems to be licensed to Lego competitor Mega Bloks–though the rival toy company has produced a nice-looking Nuketown set.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Before joining the Siege community, FrAgMenT was mostly known as a community artist for For Honor, which he continues to love, especially for its setting.
In 2018, when FrAgMenT was a Ubisoft Star Player, he was contacted by Ubisoft Australia to draw Siege artwork. As this was his first time drawing tactical gear and modern elements, this was a new challenge for him. During this process, FrAgMenT gained an appreciation for this style of artwork, and along with the support of the Siege community, it led him to join the Siege Champions Program[rainbow6.com] along with other talented community members!
FrAgMenT’s art is all about challenging perspectives and details while telling stories and bringing emotions into his artwork. But why Hibana? FrAgMenT wanted to introduce his passion for Japanese mythology and folklore in a well-fitting way. On top of being his favorite operator, Hibana felt like the perfect choice for his vision. The design is inspired by characters he’s created with some important elements: horns, a headband, and typical Oni colors.

Switch Outsells PS5 And Xbox Series X In The US, Top 20 Best-Selling Games Revealed For August

The NPD Group’s report for August has arrived, shining a light on which games and consoles sold the best in the US during the month. The report also provides an overall snapshot of the health of the industry.

In total, consumer spending on games in the US during August 2021–spanning hardware, software, and accessories–jumped by 7% to reach $4.4 billion, which represents a new record high for spending in any August in NPD’s history. Total spending so far in 2021 rose by 13% to $37.9 billion compared to the first eight months of 2020.

Looking at hardware specifically, the Nintendo Switch was once again the best-selling platform in terms of total units sold, for August and the entire year so far. The PlayStation 5, however, generated more money in August and the year to date thanks to its higher price point.

Spending on hardware in August 2021 reached $329 million, which is up 45% compared to August 2020, and it’s the highest for an August month since August 2008 ($395 million). Over the first eight months of 2021, spending on hardware rose 49% to $3 billion.

Shifting to games, the month’s big new release, Madden NFL 22, was unsurprisingly the best selling game of August 2021. It also became the fourth best-selling game of 2021 so far. The NPD said this represents the 22nd straight year that a Madden game has reached the top of the charts during its launch month.

Ghost of Tsushima finished August at No. 2, rising from the 110th spot in July thanks to the launch of the Director’s Cut. Also of note, The Last of Us Part II jumped up the PlayStation-specific charts to finish 10th overall thanks to price cuts in August, and Humankind was the fourth best-selling game overall and the top-seller for PC during August 2021.

The mobile category was also massive for August 2021, with revenue exceeding $2 billion during the month. Candy Crush Saga, Garena Free Fire, Roblox, Coin Master, Pokemon Go, Genshin Impact, Homescapes, Clash of Clans, and PUBG Mobile were the top revenue-drivers in August 2021.

In terms of accessories, the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller was the top seller during August, while the PS5’s DualSense controller continues to be the highest-selling accessory for 2021 so far. In total, spending on accessories reached $164 million, which was flat compared to last August. Year-to-date, spending on accessories jumped 12% to $1.6 billion.

Call Of Duty 2022 Is A Modern Warfare Sequel About Colombian Drug Cartels – Report

Call of Duty fans are gearing up for the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard and the new Warzone Pacific map this year, but what’s coming next? Insider Tom Henderson reported that Call of Duty 2022 is codenamed Project Cortez, and it will be a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare. Like that game, it’ll be developed by Infinity Ward, it seems. VGC’s own sources back up Henderson’s report.

The Modern Warfare sequel’s story mode will follow US soldiers going to war against Colombian drug cartels, according to the report. The Project Cortez codename may be a reference to the villain, Felix Cortez, from the 1994 Harrison Ford film Clear and Present Danger.

Given the usual three-year studio rotation, 2022 would be Infinity Ward’s turn to take the reins, following Treyarch’s leading effort on Black Ops Cold War and Sledgehammer for Vanguard. Infinity Ward making a sequel to 2019’s massively successful Modern Warfare reboot would be no surprise. Not only was the game a huge commercial success, but it ended with a very blatant set-up for the next Modern Warfare story.

Both Henderson and VGC have accurately reported on unannounced Call of Duty news many times in the past. However, Activision has not made any official announcements of the next big Call of Duty game, so nothing is confirmed at this stage. We have contacted Activision in an attempt to get more details.

In addition to the next Call of Duty game, Activision is developing a new Call of Duty mobile game from a newly established studio.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and the new Warzone Pacific map are scheduled for release later this year. You can try Vanguard’s multiplayer this month through its beta tests on all platforms.

All of this is happening as Activision Blizzard faces a lawsuit from the state of California over discrimination and sexual harassment of women.
